Seattle police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another following a shooting Sunday at a crowded food festival that left three people dead and several others injured, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. at the 'Seattle Food Fest' in the city's Pioneer Square neighborhood, according to police. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found multiple victims. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, and several others were taken to hospitals with injuries ranging from non-life-threatening to critical.
Police identified the arrested suspect as a 22-year-old male, whose name has not been released pending charges. The second suspect remains at large, and authorities have not provided a description. The motive for the shooting is under investigation, but police believe it was targeted and not a random act of violence.
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell called the incident 'a tragic and senseless act of violence' and vowed to bring all those responsible to justice. The festival, which featured food vendors and live music, was canceled for the remainder of the weekend.
