Le sergent-chef (rés.) Basil Sweid, 32 ans, conducteur de camion au sein du 75e bataillon de la 7e brigade blindée, a été tué dans un accident opérationnel dans le sud du Liban dans la nuit du mercredi 24 juin 2026, a confirmé l'armée israélienne jeudi.
L'incident s'est produit lorsqu'un camion s'est renversé lors d'une opération militaire. Un autre soldat a été blessé et évacué vers un hôpital pour y recevoir des soins. L'armée a indiqué que l'accident fait l'objet d'une enquête.
