Counter Terrorism Policing London has arrested seven people in connection with an alleged plan to commit an arson attack targeting the Jewish community. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests on Tuesday, April 22, 2026.
Officers arrested three men, aged 24, 25, and 26, in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and four other individuals in London. All seven were detained on suspicion of involvement in the preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Commander Dominic Murphy, head of the Met's Counter Terrorism Command, stated the arrests were made following an intelligence-led investigation. He emphasized there was no immediate threat to the public from the alleged plot. Searches were conducted at several residential addresses as part of the ongoing inquiry.
