Four members of Uganda's boxing team have been reported missing in Scotland following the conclusion of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, according to Police Scotland and Ugandan officials.
The athletes have been identified as Angel Katushabe, Nuhu Batte, Ibrahim Ayub, and another team member whose name has not been officially released. They were last seen at the athletes' village in Glasgow on the final day of the Games, which ended on August 3, 2026.
Police Scotland confirmed that a missing persons report has been filed and that inquiries are ongoing. Ugandan team officials stated that the boxers did not return to the village after a scheduled outing and have not been in contact since.
This incident echoes previous cases of athletes going missing during international sporting events in the UK, though authorities have not speculated on the reasons for their disappearance. The Commonwealth Games Federation has offered support to the Ugandan delegation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland or the Ugandan High Commission in London.
