A 26-year-old boxer has been arrested in connection with the death of a 38-year-old Scottish woman whose body was found in a suitcase in an abandoned building in Athens, Greek police said.
The suspect, identified as Ahmadzai, was born in Afghanistan and is a champion boxer. He was arrested after the body was discovered on 18 July in the Kypseli district, several days after the woman was reported missing.
Police have not released the woman's name, but local media report she was a Scottish national living in Greece. An investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is expected to appear before a prosecutor.
The case has drawn attention to violence against women in Greece, with activists calling for stronger protections.
