SpaceX conducted a test flight of its Starship vehicle on June 14, 2026, from its Boca Chica, Texas facility. The Super Heavy booster successfully separated and landed on a drone ship in the Gulf of Mexico, while the upper stage completed a controlled splashdown in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.
This was the fourth integrated test flight of the full Starship stack. The mission aimed to demonstrate key capabilities including booster recovery and upper stage reentry. Preliminary data indicates the booster landing was stable, though SpaceX engineers are analyzing telemetry for any anomalies.
The test comes amid ongoing development of Starship for NASA's Artemis program, which plans to use a modified version for lunar landings. SpaceX has not yet announced a date for the next test flight.
