The 18th edition of the Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) took place in Meknès, Morocco, from April 22 to 27, 2026. The event featured a livestock competition where awards were presented for the best animals exhibited in the livestock pavilion, categorized by species and breed.
According to official reports, over 690 heads of livestock were exhibited in the livestock pavilion. The competition aimed to select the best animals based on criteria such as health, conformation, and genetic quality.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, who highlighted the importance of the livestock sector for Morocco's agricultural development. The event also included conferences and workshops on animal husbandry and breeding techniques.
This year's SIAM focused on innovation and sustainability in agriculture, with a special emphasis on supporting small-scale farmers and improving livestock productivity. The competition serves as a platform to promote genetic improvement and best practices in animal breeding.
