Samsung Electronics President TM Roh has publicly stated that the company is not concerned about Apple's anticipated entry into the foldable smartphone market. Speaking at a recent industry event, Roh emphasized Samsung's long-standing experience and innovation in the foldable segment, which began with the Galaxy Fold in 2019.
According to multiple industry reports, Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone in late 2026 or early 2027. However, Roh noted that Samsung has already sold over 10 million foldable devices globally and continues to refine its technology with each new generation, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
Analysts suggest that while Apple's entry could intensify competition, Samsung's established supply chain and diverse foldable portfolio provide a significant advantage. Roh also highlighted Samsung's commitment to expanding the foldable market through partnerships with app developers and carriers.
