SHENZHEN – A new cleaning service in China, launched in March 2026, is testing a humanoid robot named Quanta X1 Pro in real homes. The robot, described as boxy and white, was recently deployed in a home alongside a human housekeeper, Aunty Tan, and a young engineer.
The service aims to explore whether humanoid robots can assist with household chores. The Quanta X1 Pro is designed to perform tasks like sweeping and mopping, but its capabilities are still limited compared to human workers. The trial in Shenzhen is one of the first to combine a robot with human supervision.
Details about the company behind the service or the robot's manufacturer were not immediately available. The test highlights ongoing efforts in China to integrate robotics into daily life, though full automation of household chores remains a challenge.
