According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), Portugal will experience a sunny and dry weekend on August 15-16, 2026. High pressure will dominate, bringing clear skies across most of the country.
In Lisbon, temperatures are expected to reach 30°C on Saturday and Sunday, with light northerly winds. Porto will see slightly cooler conditions, with highs around 26°C and some morning cloudiness. The Algarve will be hot, with temperatures peaking at 35°C in the afternoon.
IPMA has issued a yellow weather warning for high temperatures in the interior regions, particularly in the districts of Évora, Beja, and Castelo Branco, where thermometers may reach 38°C. The agency advises staying hydrated and avoiding sun exposure during peak hours.
No rain is forecast for the entire weekend, and UV levels will be very high, especially in the south. Beachgoers are urged to use sunscreen and seek shade during midday.
