A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison for murdering a police informant with a lethal dose of fentanyl. Steven Gaddis, 28, pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit third-degree murder, aggravated assault, and kidnapping in connection with the 2023 death of 43-year-old Michael Keys.
According to court documents and statements from the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, Gaddis lured Keys to a home in McKeesport in July 2023 under the guise of a drug deal. Authorities said Gaddis, believing Keys had provided information to police, injected him with a fatal amount of fentanyl. Prosecutors stated Gaddis told Keys, "It's your last supper," before administering the dose.
After Keys died, Gaddis and an accomplice wrapped the body in plastic and dumped it from the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge into the Monongahela River. The body was discovered days later. Gaddis was arrested in August 2023 following an investigation by local police and the District Attorney's Office.
Gaddis entered his guilty plea in February 2026 and was sentenced by an Allegheny County judge on March 31, 2026. In addition to the prison term, the sentence includes five years of probation. A co-defendant in the case, Brittany French, previously pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse and conspiracy and was sentenced to time served.
