PUTRAJAYA: Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was accorded an official welcome at Perdana Putra on Monday (June 22), on his first foreign visit since taking office in February.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received his counterpart at the Prime Minister's Office, where a ceremonial welcome was held. The visit underscores the strengthening bilateral ties between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
Discussions between the two leaders are expected to cover trade, investment, and labour cooperation, as both nations seek to enhance economic partnership. Malaysia is home to a significant Bangladeshi diaspora, contributing to the workforce in various sectors.
The visit marks a milestone in Bangladesh-Malaysia relations, with both sides expressing optimism for future collaboration.
