French judicial authorities have opened a new investigation into the disappearance of Clément, a teenager from Seine-et-Marne, who went missing in Morocco in April 2024. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed the new probe, citing the emergence of "new elements" in the case.

Clément, who was 18 at the time, vanished while on a trip with friends near the coastal town of Taghazout. His passport and personal belongings were found in his rented accommodation, but despite extensive searches by Moroccan and French authorities, no trace of him has been found for two years.

The initial investigation, opened for "kidnapping and sequestration," failed to yield conclusive results. The new judicial inquiry, led by an investigating magistrate, aims to re-examine all evidence with the hope of providing answers to the teenager's family.

The case has drawn significant media attention in France, with Clément's family maintaining an active campaign to keep the search alive. The French foreign ministry continues to provide consular assistance to the family.
