Nathan Lane, known for his comedic roles, took on a dramatic part in the 2022 Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman.' The production, directed by Miranda Cromwell, opened at the Hudson Theatre in October 2022 and ran until January 2023.
In an interview with NPR, Lane described the experience as 'the most rewarding thing I've done.' He noted that unlike in comedies where he might hear laughter, in this play he hears the audience's emotional reactions, such as coughing, which he interprets as a sign of deep engagement.
The revival was notable for its diverse casting, with Lane playing Willy Loman alongside Sharon D Clarke as Linda Loman. The production received critical acclaim and several Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival of a Play.
