After a relatively cool start to May, marked by instability over mountainous areas, Morocco is set to experience a gradual rise in temperatures starting Tuesday, May 19, 2026, according to weather forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
The DGM predicts that daytime temperatures will increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius compared to previous days, with maximums ranging from 25°C to 30°C in coastal regions and 32°C to 37°C inland. Nighttime lows will also rise slightly, staying between 14°C and 20°C.
This warming trend is expected to continue through the end of the week, with stable weather conditions prevailing across most of the country. However, some cloud formations may persist over the Atlas and Rif mountains, possibly bringing isolated light showers.
The DGM advises residents and visitors to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak hours, especially in southern and eastern regions where temperatures could reach up to 40°C by the weekend.
