Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level heat alert for several provinces from Tuesday, July 14, to Friday, July 17, 2026. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 45°C in some areas, according to the DGM's bulletin.
The alert covers provinces including but not limited to those in the interior and southern regions. The DGM advises residents to take precautions, such as staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
This heatwave follows a pattern of extreme temperatures in North Africa during summer months. No casualties or major incidents have been reported as of July 15, 2026.
