According to verified data from EastFruit and industry reports, Morocco ranked as the 9th largest exporter of fresh vegetables by value in 2025, with exports totaling $2.782 billion (CAD). This represents a 6.1% increase from the previous year. The country also secured the 8th position by volume, accounting for 3.5% of global trade.
The growth was driven by strong demand for Moroccan tomatoes, peppers, and green beans in European markets, particularly in France, Spain, and the Netherlands. Improved logistics and cold chain infrastructure contributed to the rise in both value and volume.
Morocco's vegetable exports have been steadily increasing over the past five years, supported by government initiatives to boost agricultural productivity and access to international markets. The sector remains a key component of the national economy, employing hundreds of thousands of workers.
