According to a report by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Morocco's total merchandise trade with the world reached $208.9 billion in 2025, while its trade with the rest of Africa stood at $9.5 billion. The figures were released in the bank's African Trade Report 2026, presented during the 32nd Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Nassau, Bahamas, in June 2026.
The report highlights Morocco's growing role in intra-African trade, driven by a strong economic performance in 2025: GDP growth of 4.9% and inflation at 0.8%. The country's trade with Africa represents about 4.5% of its total external trade, reflecting efforts to deepen continental integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Morocco's main export partners within Africa include Senegal, CΓ΄te d'Ivoire, and Mali, while imports come primarily from Egypt, South Africa, and Tunisia. Key traded goods include fertilizers, vehicles, and agricultural products.
The Afreximbank report also notes that Morocco's total trade volume positions it as one of the top five African economies in terms of external trade, alongside South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, and Algeria. The bank projects further growth in intra-African trade as infrastructure and trade facilitation improve.
