A delegation from FIFA has arrived in Morocco for an inspection visit as part of the preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Morocco is a co-host of the tournament alongside Spain and Portugal, with the opening matches scheduled to be held in South America to mark the competition's centenary.
The inspection mission, which follows similar visits to the Iberian nations, is evaluating Morocco's proposed stadiums, training sites, accommodation, and transport infrastructure. The Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF) is overseeing the local preparations for the historic first World Cup to be held across three continents.
Morocco plans to use and renovate several existing stadiums, including the Grand Stade de Casablanca, which is currently under construction. The successful hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is seen as a key test event for the country's World Cup readiness.
The joint bid's roadmap requires all host nations to submit detailed plans to FIFA, with final decisions on match allocations and specific venues expected in the coming years. The inspection's findings will contribute to FIFA's ongoing coordination with the host countries.
