The California Science Center has announced that its Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center expansion will open to the public on November 13, 2026. The 200,000-square-foot addition will house the space shuttle Endeavour in a vertical, launch-ready configuration, complete with its external tank and solid rocket boosters.
Construction began in 2022, and the project represents a major milestone for the museum. The center will feature three levels of exhibits covering air and space exploration, including artifacts from NASA's space shuttle program.
Endeavour, which flew 25 missions between 1992 and 2011, has been on display at the Science Center in a horizontal position since 2012. The new building will allow visitors to view the shuttle as it appeared during launch.
Tickets for the opening are expected to go on sale later this year. The California Science Center is located in Exposition Park, Los Angeles.
