The body of one of two American soldiers reported missing in southern Morocco has been found, the Moroccan army announced on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Intensive search operations conducted jointly by the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the U.S. military led to the recovery of the remains. The identity of the soldier has not yet been publicly released, pending notification of next of kin.
The two soldiers were reported missing earlier this week during a training exercise in the region. Search efforts continue for the second missing soldier. The cause of death has not been disclosed, and an investigation is ongoing.
