The agent of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has stated the player is open to a move to FC Barcelona. In an interview with Catalan radio station RAC1, agent Jorge Mendes confirmed Silva's interest but stressed the financial complexity of any potential transfer.
"Bernardo Silva is one of the best players in the world, and Barcelona knows his desire to one day play there," Mendes said. "It's a club he's always liked. But it's very complicated." The agent cited Barcelona's well-documented financial constraints as the primary obstacle to a deal.
Silva, 29, has been consistently linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in recent summers, with Barcelona frequently mentioned as a suitor. He remains under contract with Manchester City until June 2026. The Portuguese international has won multiple Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League with City since joining in 2017.
Despite the player's openness, no formal negotiations are reported to be underway. Barcelona's ability to structure a financially viable offer for a player of Silva's caliber, given their need to comply with La Liga's salary limits, is seen as a significant hurdle.
