The All Progressives Congress (APC) has updated its list of senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the party's Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections. The initial list, released earlier, contained 47 names, including that of former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in 2020.
According to a statement from the APC National Organising Secretary, the updated list now excludes Ben Bruce's name. The party did not provide a specific reason for the removal, but sources suggest it may be due to a review of his nomination documents or internal party consultations.
The APC has urged all cleared aspirants to prepare for the primaries scheduled for later this month. The party also reiterated its commitment to transparent and credible internal elections.
