Former Morocco assistant coach Tarik Sektioui has been appointed as the new head coach of the Oman national football team. The Oman Football Association (OFA) confirmed the appointment on March 22, 2026.

Sektioui, 48, had been a key part of the Moroccan national team's technical staff under head coach Walid Regragui. His departure follows Regragui's own exit from the role earlier this year.

The OFA stated that Sektioui's contract will run until the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. His immediate task will be to prepare Oman for their upcoming matches in the final round of Asian qualifiers.

Sektioui, a former Moroccan international winger, brings significant playing and coaching experience to the role. He previously managed Moroccan club Wydad AC and served as an assistant for the national team during their historic run to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals.
