French alpine skiing star Alexis Pinturault has announced his retirement from the sport. The 34-year-old made the announcement on March 25, 2026, ending a decorated career that spanned over a decade at the highest level.

Pinturault retires as one of France's most successful skiers. His career highlights include a gold medal in the Alpine combined at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, a silver medal in the giant slalom at the 2018 PyeongChang Games, and two bronze medals. He also won three overall World Cup crystal globes (2020, 2021, 2023) and secured 34 individual World Cup race victories.

His final World Cup race was in Saalbach, Austria, in March 2026. Pinturault cited a desire for a new chapter in his life as a key reason for his decision to step away from competition. The French skiing federation confirmed his retirement and celebrated his immense contributions to the sport.
