The FIFA World Cup trophy will be transported to the final match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk, the luxury fashion house confirmed. This marks the continuation of a partnership that began in 2010, with Louis Vuitton designing the carry case for the trophy.
The trunk, crafted from the brand's iconic Monogram canvas and featuring the FIFA World Cup Trophy logo, is designed to protect the 18-carat gold trophy, which weighs 6.175 kg (13.6 lbs) and stands 36.8 cm (14.5 in) tall. The trophy was created by Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga in 1974.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium. The trophy tour, which began in March 2026, has visited 51 countries before arriving in the United States for the tournament.
Louis Vuitton has previously designed trunks for the World Cup trophy in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022, as well as for other major sporting trophies like the America's Cup and the NBA Larry O'Brien Trophy.
