BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) β Shimron Hetmyer held his nerve late in the run chase to make an unbeaten 69 and steer West Indies to a two-wicket win over New Zealand Tuesday in the fifth and final one-day cricket international.
New Zealand took the series 3-2 after winning the first three matches. The West Indies won the fourth ODI by five wickets before Tuesday's victory.
Hetmyer's innings included seven fours and two sixes, anchoring the chase after the West Indies lost early wickets. He shared a crucial partnership with Jason Holder, who scored 34, to guide the team home with 10 balls to spare.
Earlier, New Zealand posted 256 for 8 in their 50 overs, with Tom Latham top-scoring with 69 and Devon Conway contributing 56. For the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph took three wickets for 45 runs.
