SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old woman was ordered on Friday (May 15) to undergo reformative training for a minimum of 12 months after she was caught twice with etomidate-laced vapes, known as Kpods, at a nightclub where she worked as a waitress.
The court heard that the woman, who cannot be named due to a gag order, was first caught on October 10, 2025, when police raided the club and found three Kpods in her possession. She was arrested and released on bail. However, on November 20, 2025, she was again found with two Kpods during another police operation at the same club.
Etomidate is a controlled substance under Singapore's Misuse of Drugs Act. The prosecution argued for reformative training, citing the need to deter young offenders from drug abuse. The defense sought a lighter sentence, noting her cooperation and remorse.
Reformative training is a rehabilitative sentence for offenders under 21, involving a structured regimen of discipline and education. The minimum 12-month term was imposed by the court, with the possibility of extension up to 36 months based on progress.
