The City of Vancouver has officially launched a search for a development partner to build a 100-unit supportive housing project for veterans at 333 Columbia Way. The city issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) on March 27, 2026, seeking a non-profit or community housing provider to design, build, and operate the facility.

The project, announced in 2025, is a partnership between the City of Vancouver and Veterans Affairs Canada. The federal government is providing the land, a former parking lot, while the city is contributing $15 million from its Affordable Housing Endowment Fund. The goal is to create permanent, below-market rental homes with on-site support services for veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

The RFP process will close on May 29, 2026. The selected partner will be responsible for securing additional financing, including from BC Housing and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, to cover the total estimated project cost. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.

This initiative is part of Vancouver's broader strategy to address homelessness and is one of several veteran-specific housing projects being advanced across Canada with federal support.
