Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched new initiatives aimed at improving child development and nutrition in the state. The schemes were announced as part of the government's ongoing efforts to address malnutrition and promote early childhood care.
One of the key programs focuses on strengthening the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, which provides supplementary nutrition, preschool education, and health check-ups. The state government has emphasized the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child's life for cognitive and physical development.
Officials stated that the initiatives will involve coordination between the Women and Child Development, Health, and Education departments. The plans include upgrading anganwadi centers and improving the monitoring of nutritional outcomes for children under six years of age.
The launch aligns with national missions like POSHAN Abhiyaan, which aims to reduce stunting, undernutrition, and low birth weight. The Chief Minister urged officials to ensure effective ground-level implementation of the new measures.
