Two French nationals who went missing at sea off the coast of Assilah, Morocco, on May 27, 2026, have been found alive, according to Moroccan authorities. The individuals were reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip.
Search and rescue operations were launched by the Moroccan Royal Navy and local authorities. The two were located and rescued on May 28, approximately 10 nautical miles off the coast. They were in stable condition and received medical attention.
The French embassy in Rabat confirmed the rescue and thanked Moroccan authorities for their swift response. The identities of the individuals have not been released at the request of their families.
