The Tigers baseball team completed a sweep of Cheyenne South in a doubleheader on May 9, 2026, winning the first game 10-2 and the second 8-1. The victories improved the Tigers' season record to 15-5.
In the first game, the Tigers scored five runs in the third inning to break open a close contest. Senior pitcher Jake Thompson struck out eight batters over six innings to earn the win. Junior first baseman Alex Martinez drove in three runs with a double and a single.
The second game saw the Tigers jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Sophomore pitcher Ryan Lee allowed only one run on four hits in a complete-game effort. Center fielder Chris Johnson hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to seal the victory.
Cheyenne South's only run of the second game came on a solo home run by senior catcher Mike Davis in the fourth inning. The Tigers will next face Laramie High School on May 12.
