Morocco's Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) issued a weather alert on Saturday, June 27, 2026, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts, as well as a heatwave affecting several provinces across the kingdom.
The alert, valid for the weekend of June 27-28, 2026, covers provinces including Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and others in the Atlas regions. Thunderstorms are expected to bring localized heavy rainfall, hail, and gusts up to 75 km/h.
Simultaneously, a heatwave is forecast for provinces in the south and southeast, such as Tata, Zagora, and Errachidia, with temperatures reaching up to 44°C. The DGM advises residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and flash flooding.
