Thai police said they arrested an Australian man, identified as 27-year-old Max William Jones, on June 26, 2026, in connection with the death of the teenager, whose body was discovered on June 24, 2026, in a suitcase left near a garbage dump in Pattaya, a popular beach resort city. The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Nong Bua, a local resident.
Police reported that Jones was arrested at a hotel in Pattaya and has been charged with murder. The motive remains under investigation, but authorities have not ruled out a possible dispute. The family of Nong Bua expressed their grief, stating they are seeking justice for their daughter.
