During a general assembly held on June 6, 2026, in Casablanca, Tarik Hamane was elected president of the Moroccan Association of Press Publishers (AMEPA) for a four-year term. The assembly also elected a new board of directors and an executive bureau, consisting of 27 and 12 members respectively, representing both public and private sector actors.
Hamane, who is also the director of the newspaper Al Massae, succeeds Mustapha Sehimi, who had led the association since 2022. The election took place in accordance with the association's statutes, with a focus on strengthening the role of press publishers in Morocco's media landscape.
