At the Industry Meeting Days in Casablanca, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour stated that Morocco's industrial sector must transition from a subcontracting model to one focused on brand development and higher value-added production. He emphasized that this shift is essential for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
Mezzour highlighted key challenges including the need for skilled labor, increased investment in research and development, and stronger intellectual property protection. He noted that Morocco has already made progress in automotive and aerospace sectors but needs to move up the value chain.
The minister also pointed to the importance of digital transformation and innovation in achieving this goal. He called for collaboration between government, private sector, and educational institutions to create an ecosystem that fosters brand creation and innovation.
