Two brothers from Surrey, British Columbia, have been sentenced to five years in prison for a shooting incident in Guildford and a subsequent police chase. The sentencing took place on May 29, 2026, at the Surrey Provincial Court.
The brothers, whose names have not been released due to a publication ban, were convicted of discharging a firearm at a residence in the Guildford area on March 15, 2025. No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Following the shooting, the brothers led police on a high-speed chase through Surrey and Langley, which ended when their vehicle crashed. They were arrested without further incident.
Justice Sarah Thompson noted the seriousness of the offenses, stating that such violence endangers the community. The five-year sentence includes credit for time served since their arrest.
