Stellantis has opened its first vehicle dismantling center in the Middle East and Africa region, located in Morocco. The facility, announced on May 7, 2026, is designed to dismantle end-of-life vehicles and recover parts for reuse, supporting the company's circular economy goals.
The center is part of Stellantis' SUSTAINera circular economy business, which focuses on extending the life of vehicle parts and reducing waste. According to the company, the facility will process vehicles from the region, recovering components such as engines, transmissions, and electronics for remanufacturing or recycling.
This initiative aligns with Morocco's growing automotive industry and environmental policies. The country has become a major automotive hub in Africa, with Stellantis operating a manufacturing plant in Kenitra. The dismantling center is expected to create local jobs and reduce the environmental impact of vehicle disposal.
Stellantis has not disclosed the exact location or capacity of the center, but confirmed it is operational as of May 2026. The company plans to expand similar facilities in other markets as part of its global circular economy strategy.
