SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service has officially launched in Morocco. The service, which uses a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites, is now available for order across the country, according to the company's official website and coverage map.
The introduction aims to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband internet, particularly in rural and remote areas where traditional terrestrial infrastructure is limited or unavailable. This expansion is part of Starlink's broader rollout across Africa.
To access the service, Moroccan residents can order the necessary hardware kit directly from Starlink. The service promises to support activities like streaming, online gaming, and video calls. Pricing and specific data plans for the Moroccan market are listed on the Starlink website.
The launch follows regulatory approval from the Moroccan National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT). The agency had previously granted Starlink the necessary licenses to operate in the kingdom, paving the way for its commercial debut.
