SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket is scheduled to launch on April 27, 2026, marking its first flight in 18 months. The mission, designated USSF-44 for the U.S. Space Force, will lift off from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A in Florida.
The Falcon Heavy, currently the world's most powerful operational rocket, will carry a classified payload for the U.S. Space Force. The launch window opens at 9:41 a.m. EDT (1341 GMT).
This mission was delayed multiple times due to payload issues and weather. The previous Falcon Heavy launch occurred in November 2022, carrying the ViaSat-3 Americas satellite.
SpaceX will provide a live webcast of the launch, starting about 15 minutes before liftoff. The company has not disclosed details about the payload due to its classified nature.
