The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed an appeal related to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), upholding Senegal's status as the tournament champion. The appeal, filed by a third party, contested certain administrative aspects of the competition's organization but did not challenge the sporting results of the matches.

Senegal won the 2023 AFCON final, held in Cameroon, by defeating Egypt in a penalty shootout on February 6, 2022. This victory marked Senegal's first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title. The CAS ruling, issued in March 2026, brings final legal closure to the matter, confirming the legitimacy of the tournament's outcome.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), which organized the tournament, welcomed the CAS decision. A CAF statement emphasized that the ruling reinforces the integrity of the competition and its processes. The Senegalese Football Federation also expressed satisfaction, stating the decision allows the nation to fully celebrate its historic achievement without any lingering procedural doubts.
