The president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall, has called for restraint and a measured approach to resolve the situation involving Senegalese fans detained in Morocco. The detentions followed incidents during a match between the Senegalese club Génération Foot and Morocco's AS FAR in the CAF Confederation Cup on March 30, 2026.

According to reports, 18 Senegalese supporters were arrested by Moroccan authorities after clashes and incidents of vandalism at the Stade Moulay Abdallah in Rabat. The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was marred by unrest involving a section of the traveling supporters.

In a statement, FSF President Abdoulaye Fall emphasized the need for "height" and calm to facilitate a diplomatic resolution, working through proper football and state channels. He stated the federation is engaged with relevant authorities to ensure the supporters' rights are respected and to seek a swift conclusion to the matter.

The incident has drawn attention to security protocols for continental club competitions. Both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Moroccan Football Federation have launched investigations into the events surrounding the match.
