The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the cancellation of its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Morocco. The match, originally scheduled for March 2025, was called off by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after a diplomatic dispute between the nations.

CAF canceled the fixture following Morocco's decision to sever diplomatic ties with Senegal in early 2025. The continental governing body cited security concerns and the inability to guarantee the safety of the Moroccan delegation as the primary reasons for the cancellation.

In its appeal, the FSF argues that the match should have been forfeited in Senegal's favor, as it was Morocco's political actions that led to the unsafe conditions. The federation is seeking the awarding of the match points and is contesting CAF's procedural handling of the decision.

A CAS spokesperson confirmed receipt of the appeal, but no date for a hearing has been set. The outcome could impact the standings in Group E of the African World Cup qualifiers.
