The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has formally requested an international investigation into "suspicions of corruption" following the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to award the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco. The move comes after Senegal was stripped of its hosting rights for the tournament in 2025 due to delays in preparations, with CAF subsequently naming Morocco as the replacement host and automatic winner.

In a statement released on March 18, 2026, the FSF expressed "profound dismay" at the decision and alleged irregularities in the process. The federation cited a lack of transparency and called for an independent audit of the procedures that led to Morocco's designation as both host and champion.

CAF has not yet issued a public response to Senegal's allegations. The continental body had previously explained that awarding the title to the host nation was a contingency measure outlined in its regulations, applied due to the late change in venue and the compressed timeline before the tournament.

The controversy casts a shadow over the upcoming tournament and raises questions about governance within African football. No formal investigation has been announced by FIFA or any other international body as of March 19, 2026.
