Saskatoon police are investigating the death of a 61-year-old woman in a house fire as a homicide. Emergency crews responded to a fire at a residence on the 100 block of Avenue P South on the evening of April 8, 2026.
Upon extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered the woman deceased inside the home. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the Saskatoon Police Service's Major Crimes and Forensic Identification sections are involved in the investigation.
Police have stated the death is considered suspicious and is being treated as a homicide. No arrests have been announced, and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the victim has not been publicly released.
