Australia captain Sam Kerr, Chelsea's all-time leading scorer in the Women's Super League, will leave the club when her contract expires at the end of the season, the club announced on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Kerr has scored 115 goals in 177 appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2020. She has won four Women's Super League titles, three FA Cups, and two League Cups with the club.
The 32-year-old forward is currently recovering from a serious knee injury sustained in January 2024. She has not played since and is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Kerr said in a statement: 'I will always be grateful to Chelsea for the memories and success we have shared. I am now focused on my recovery and looking forward to the next chapter.'
