Brad Shirley, fire chief of the Salmon Arm Fire Department, has retired after 44 years of service. His last day was June 26, 2026, according to a city announcement.
Shirley joined the department in 1982 and became fire chief in 2008. He oversaw significant improvements in equipment and training during his tenure.
Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Hough will serve as interim chief while the city conducts a search for a permanent replacement.
