The 18th edition of the Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) took place from April 22 to 27, 2026, in Meknès. The event featured a strong presence of cooperatives from the Saharan regions, showcasing their premium terroir products, including argan oil, dates, and camel milk derivatives.

According to the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture, over 60 cooperatives from the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab regions participated. These cooperatives benefit from state support programs aimed at improving product quality and facilitating access to international markets.

One notable participant was the cooperative 'Tifawin' from Laâyoune, which reported a 30% increase in sales compared to the previous year, driven by growing demand for organic and fair-trade products. The cooperative's president, Fatima El Moutaouakil, stated: 'Our goal is to position our products on European and Asian markets while preserving our traditional know-how.'

The SIAM 2026 also hosted business-to-business meetings between cooperatives and international buyers, with over 200 export contracts signed during the event, according to the Morocco Export Promotion Agency (AMDIE).
