Replit has officially released Agent 4, the latest version of its AI-powered coding tool, after Apple lifted a temporary ban on Replit updates earlier this year. The ban, which had prevented the company from releasing new versions of its app on the App Store, was resolved as of May 2026.
CEO Amjad Massad celebrated the news on X, stating, 'We are thrilled to bring Agent 4 to all users. This update includes significant improvements in code generation and debugging capabilities.' The new version was first teased in March 2026.
Agent 4 introduces enhanced natural language processing, allowing users to describe features in plain English and have the AI generate corresponding code. Early beta testers reported a 40% reduction in development time for common tasks.
The lifting of the ban marks a turnaround for Replit, which had faced scrutiny over app update policies. The company has not disclosed the specific reasons for the temporary restriction.
