The Royal Theatre of Rabat, a new cultural landmark in Morocco's capital, was officially inaugurated in 2025. Designed by the late Zaha Hadid Architects, the theatre is a striking example of contemporary architecture, featuring flowing, organic forms that integrate with the surrounding landscape.
The venue boasts state-of-the-art acoustic engineering, with a main auditorium that can seat over 1,800 people. The design includes advanced sound systems and adjustable acoustics to host a wide range of performances, from opera and classical music to theater and contemporary dance.
The theatre also includes multiple flexible spaces, such as a smaller experimental stage, rehearsal rooms, and public areas. The project is part of a broader cultural development plan for Rabat, aiming to position the city as a hub for arts and culture in North Africa.
